The event, held at London’s Business Design Centre, brought together the very best in Open Banking, Open Finance, and payments innovation from around the world.

Ralph Bragg’s technical leadership has played a fundamental role in shaping the data-sharing ecosystems that provide the critical infrastructure enabling national financial ecosystems to scale, including Open Finance Brasil – the world’s largest data-sharing and financial services ecosystem.
“Ralph’s technical leadership has underpinned the success of Open Banking and Open Finance ecosystems worldwide. From co-creating the UK’s first Open Banking Trust Framework, to delivering the infrastructure powering Brazil’s Open Finance and Open Insurance, his work has set global benchmarks for security, scalability, and interoperability. The judges agreed that his influence, vision, and continued innovation embody the spirit of a true pioneer.”
Ralph, unable to attend in person as he resides in Australia, shared an acceptance speech that resonated with everyone in the room:
“I’m genuinely surprised and deeply honoured to receive this award. Most of the work I do doesn't happen on a stage or in the headlines. It's the quiet kind buried deep in the infrastructure, building the rails of trust, identity and security strong enough for everything else to stand on. When we get those foundations right, everything becomes faster, safer and simpler for banks, for fintechs and for the people they serve.
“Open Banking is now a global phenomenon, and I'm genuinely privileged to have been trusted to design, build, and run the trust services that power these ecosystems for banks, regulators and governments around the world... The future of open banking and open everything is bright, and I can't wait to see where we take it from here.”
Together with obconnect, Raidiam delivered a groundbreaking, API-first Confirmation of Payee (CoP) service for the entire banking sector in New Zealand. The centralised Open Banking ecosystem was delivered in just over six months, and now protects more than 95% of New Zealanders’ bank accounts from misdirected and fraudulent payments.
The Confirmation of Payee platform has been rolled out to 13 banks through a single, standards-based API framework, allowing banks to act collectively to reduce risk while retaining full control over customer data. Not only has the CoP platform improved security and public trust in New Zealand, it has also established a new blueprint for scalable finance crime prevention.

In response to a 2023 directive from New Zealand’s Minister for Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Raidiam and obconnect partnered to deliver a nationwide Confirmation of Payee (CoP) service. Delivered in just over six months, this centralised, API-driven solution is now operational across 13 banks, covering over 95% of consumer and SME accounts.
